Armored Warfare Dev diary: Ammo Type

Check out this Armored Warfare Dev diary video about the modern ammunition types that will be used in the game, quite interesting:

  1. LOL, "brisante Munition" instead of "high-explosive ammunition"...

  2. Obsidian is a cool company. Recording their dev diaries in front of a wall of boardgames. Me like!

They say driving and guiding missiles is hard... I say very soon some players will be extremely good at it.

    1. Wonder if they have Settlers of Catan (Star Trek version)

    2. I really really wonder if they manage to balance those AGPM rounds. Apart from that I don't see any difference to WoT

    3. @eldrak. ATGMs are close to impossible to aim at moving targets while your own tank is moving. If one of the tank is stationary then there's not that hard.

I recommend you to try ARMA2 and fire ATGMs with the T-90. Good practice :)

  3. Aww, I was hoping for a more detailed look into the ammunition choice, just to see if there are sub-types.

Like HE, I want to know if they have decently made HESH shells *cough*unlike WoT*cough* or dual-purpose HEAT/HE rounds.

  4. One of the MANY problems with AW is the extremely complicated armor and various rounds that only pen one type of armor making the game overly complicated when most gamers (and posters on this website) have a very low IQ.

    1. Except AW will probably have one thing that WoT refuses to put in: a proper tutorial.

Yea, people will be stupid with the ammo if you never actually explain it to them how each one works. Nearly every other game in existence however actually does thees things, sometimes they are levels and other times they are progressive throughout the game to actually TEACH people how to play.

Is it going to fix people being stupid altogether? No, nothing can fix that. Is it going to cut down on stupidity and make it so people at least know enough of the basics to put up some fight? Yea, that's kind of the point of a tutorial.
