  1. I wonder if they will replace the premium M10/Panther model along with the normal M10 one..

    1. Why would they? Its a completely different tank with a facade. its not like they would save any time doing this.

    2. It wouldn't be connected to the M10 HD model, because really it is just the Panther with olive drab paint and some metal plates welded to its turret and rear hull to make it look like an M10. If they remade the Panther/M10 in HD, it would be based off the HD Panther model, not the M10.

    4. True, but still, the turret looks quite similar in SD, so we'll just wait and see. Have they done any premiums in HD yet?

  2. I wish we had these textures...

It would be more useful to work on ultra textures than on a 15th clone of T-54 as a 15th premium tier 8 medium tank.

They could hire new employees for that, or at least give sources to the community so we could hopefuly see some...

    but noo, money > players.

    1. No way. Currently the textures have about 40MB per tank, which means 1.2GB when you load the game for textures (a bit less if every tank is not different, so let's say half of it, 600MB).

Now these renders are, I'd say, 4 to 8 times more detailed. We had 2 times bigger and there wasn't such an improvement as on these renders, I'd say it's likely it's 8. That means 64 times the size of texture - 2.5GB per tank, 37GB of memory... no way to run it. Even 4 times detailed will take about 8-9 GB of memory in the best case (old HD took about 2.5 - 5GB of memory).

Of course, there are saving algorithms, but those don't help that much for bitmaps, sadly.

And the last thing - many players would load those huge textures and then get completely screwed up by system, so they'd lower the settings to be able to play, resulting in the same quality.

Simply put - renders are nice, but no way to play with them when you have 30 tanks per battle and want to render them every 1/60 of second.

    2. not for everytank per game, just for the one driven, would be nice.
When I look at my T-54 it doesnt look so HD, even newer tanks feel more detailed :/

    3. Problem is people are more worried about eye candy then actual game play quality. hence all the tomatoes running around looking at the sky, trees. building, a blade of grass, other tanks etc etc etc....mmmmm, glass taste good

    4. @SpeedyCraft That's a bit more possible, but then - would you download 200 or 750GB of HD skins (300 tanks * 2,5 GB) to get a single tank in battle shinier? :)

  7. Always funny to see people, who don't know german language, and their problems with the german umlaut (yes, it's Umlaut in german and umlaut in english) ä, ö & ü.

So it's not Mauschen or Lowe, but Maeuschen and Loewe. Ä is ae, ö i oe, ü is ue. Just a hint. ;)

    1. That doesn't help me pronounce it correctly at all.

      Delete
    2. this just makes pronouncing in Eng difficult

      Delete
    3. Alright, this is difficult since German and English are quite different in terms of range of sounds.

Löwe is pronounced "Loe-voe" (This particular sound is similar to the French "le").

      Maüschen is pronounced "Moy-schen".

    4. Well as 'w' sounds like a 'v' auf Deutsche it should be more like "Loeve". Ja?

  8. If the M10 is getting an HD makeover, then the M36 shouldn't be far behind as they use practically the exact same body with a few minor details, and the different turret. Hell, side by side in game they're practically identical.

Any possible word or hints that the M36 will be getting an HD model Rita?

    1. M36 Hellcat is already in HD.

    2. Nevermind, the hellcat was M18.

  9. Mauschen was very promising when it first arrived, but after that massive nerf it has completely lost it's appeal. Definitely inferior to E-75, except armor and even that isn't exactly a weak point for E-75, you know.

  10. How does the front machine gun work ?
I don't see someone fitting between the engine and the track

  14. What does *replace* mean?
Will the VK B be removed like the T50-2?
Will there be a third tier 10?
Will it be reduced to tier 8 to be a second Choice to the VK A (like: Choose Armor, or Speed?)
Will it become a Premium? Which tier than? Tier 9 like the actual top version, or tier 8 with some reductions in the gun and engine?

However... I don't want to miss the chance again to get a premium tank this way (like the T34...), so where will be that information early enough to get a chance to choose? ;)
